Misty Fjords Trip

    (Kayaking, Whales and Bears)

     Trip starts on September 01, and ends on September 08.

This trip takes us around Revilligegado Island. on which Ketchikan is located in Southern SE Alaska, gateway to the magnificent Misty Fjords National Monument. (MF) Primary activities would focus on the following: Sea kayaking, fly fishing, beachcombing , wildlife viewing, and relaxing. This is a sample itinerary. Crane trips are flexible to accommodate the individual needs and wishes of our guests.

DAY ONE: Arrive Ketchikan; settle on board. Depart town early afternoon. 4 hour run to Boca De Quadra anchorage (Mink Bay, Martin Arm, Keta River)

DAY TWO: Overnight at Boca de Quadra. Activities: kayaking , shrimping , fly fishing and hiking on Humpback Creek and Hugh Smith Lake.

DAY THREE: 3-4 hour run to Smeaton Bay anchorage (Bakewell Arm, Wilson Arm ,Blossom River, Wilson River, Bakewell Lake) (MF)
Activities: Sea kayaking, hiking, fly fishing, wildlife viewing, (seal haul-out).

DAY FOUR: 3-4 hour run to Rudyard Bay anchorage ((Jig for halibut en route at Eddystone Rock) (MF)
Activities: Hike to Punchbowl Lake, Nooya Lake trail, kayaking , flyfishing, wildlife viewing.

DAY FIVE: 2 hour run to Walker Cove anchorage ( Walker Creek) (MF). Activities: Sea kayaking, wildlife viewing
Day Five Alternative: Manzanita Bay: Manzanita Lake Trail

DAY SIX: 3-4 hour run to Bailey Bay anchorage. Possible stop at Portage Cove. Explore mouth of the Chickamin River
Activities: Sea kayaking, hiking, hot springs, fly fishing, wildlife viewing
Day Six alternatives: Saks Cove, Fitzgibbon Cove, Klahini River, Burroughs Bay

DAY SEVEN: 3 hour run to Yes Bay Activities: hiking, sea kayaking, fly fishing, wildlife viewing
Day Seven alternative: Shrimp Bay – Orchard Lake

DAY EIGHT: Return to Ketchikan. Arrive midday, depending on flight schedules etc. Time to explore around town. Flights can be made through Alaska/ Horizon Airlines. Airfare is not included in our trip price.
